Cowboy hats have their roots deep in American culture. According to an old-saying, “it is the last thing you take off and the first thing that is noticed”. Cowboy hat is worn in all corners of the globe and they always receive immediate recognition. These hats belong to the old fashion genre but they never went out of fashion till date. The surprising fact is that the today’s cowboy hat has remained basically the same unchanged in construction and design since the first one which was created in 1865. But the concept of a broad-brimmed hat dates back to 13th century.  John B. Stetson is acknowledged as a founder of cowboy hats.

The design of a cowboy Derby hat includes a high crowned, wide brimmed hat. With the changing fashion, the shape is modified. These hats also have a simple sweat band so that the head fits inside completely. With long boots and leather belts, the rugged look of a cowboy is incomplete without a wide brimmed cowboy hat.

Cowboy hats have been a trademark for the cowboys from west. But, this fashion of hats is imitated in all corners of the world and is stated as a fashion symbol. A cowboy hat is useful in protecting the wearer from sun and rain. After many years of its first usage, a cowboy hat has never really lost its charm to lend that rugged aura to its wearer.
